BIOPEP-UWM Virtual—A Novel Database of Food-Derived Peptides with In Silico-Predicted Biological Activity

نویسندگان

چکیده

The novel BIOPEP-UWM Virtual database is designed as a repository of peptide sequences whose bioactivity or taste information was the result in silico predictions. It tool complementary to existing summarizing results experimental data on bioactive peptides. layout and organization new are identical those record includes following information: name; sequence function (understood about predicted target biomacromolecule); bibliographic with reference paper describing peptide; additional information, including structure, annotated using chemical codes well specification method used for prediction; other activities discovered experimentally computational methods; (if available); tab providing compound annotations databases available).

Food-derived peptides with biological activity: from research to food applications.

Many peptides that are released in vitro or in vivo from animal or plant proteins are bioactive and have regulatory functions in humans beyond normal and adequate nutrition. Different health effects have been attributed to food-derived peptides, including antimicrobial properties, blood pressure-lowering (ACE inhibitory) effects, cholesterol-lowering ability, antithrombotic and antioxidant acti...

In silico prediction of anticancer peptides by TRAINER tool

Cancer is one of the causes of death in the world. Several treatment methods exist against cancer cells such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Since traditional methods have side effects on normal cells and are expensive, identification and developing a new method to cancer therapy is very important. Antimicrobial peptides, present in a wide variety of organisms, such as plants, amphibians and ...

Identification of food-derived bioactive peptides in blood and other biological samples.

Recent studies have demonstrated the presence of food-derived peptides in human blood after ingestion of enzymatic hydrolysates of food proteins, while most peptides in food are degraded into amino acids during digestion and absorption. To capture and clarify the food-derived peptides in blood, solid-phase extraction (SPE) using a mini-spin column packed with a strong cation exchanger was devel...
